Cycles of Awe Audiences

Audiences for my scholarship and targeted outlets for my final paper. Hopefully these are good sources to go after. If anyone else has any ideas for people/scholars/venues looking for topics concerning children's classic literature (namely Peter Pan and Alice and Wonderland), as well as Dubliners, or the psychology of awe would be great.

Audiences for My Scholarship
1. I will have to talk to her on Monday about it, but I would like to talk with a professor I've taken a couple classes from (one of which I'm taking now) who has studied James Joyce extensively and teaches it here at BYU. I can get immediate feedback from her on my paper and ideas about epiphanies as awe moments.

2. The International James Joyce Foundation and The James Joyce Scholars Collection both have a contact page where I can email them my ideas on Dubliners and the scholarship I have applied to the stories. These people are scholars in the field of James Joyce. They can help give insight to Joyce's life, his goals as a writer, what he meant to explain in Dubliners, and other ideas pertaining to my interpretations of the stories. I may be overreaching with these groups, but it's always worth a try with a simple email!

3. This author has written books on awe and has also applied psychology to awe (which is something I too am doing with my paper). He also has a contact page. I can email him as well to get his ideas of the psychology of awe and his ideas of how awe works with individuals.

4. I have already posted to the Google+ James Joyce Community and the Children's Book Community to maybe open up some discussion to peers instead of just aiming for social proof from scholars. I've gotten one comment on each post so far, so we'll see how that develops.

Three Targeted Outlets for Final Paper
1. Journal of Children's Literature: this journal has an opened themed issue for Spring 2015 where they are looking for articles related to all aspects of children's literature. One subject they suggest are kinds of theoretical perspectives being applied within the context of children's literature. I will be using the hero's cycle and some psychoanalysis theory to Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. (submission due Sept 1st 2014)

2. 100 Dubliners: this conference is looking for papers pertaining to new ways to look at James Joyce's Dubliners. Since I will be analyzing several of the short stories from that text, I would like to try submitting here as well. (proposal due April 1st)

3. Guest blogging at Extended Play or Lost in Wonderland: The first blog does book reviews, some of which have been for James Joyce's works (including Dubliners). I can contact them and see if I could use my section of my paper on James Joyce, or even the other ideas I'll be covering in Peter Pan or Alice in Wonderland as a guest analysis. The second blog is a personal blog by A Mad Tea Party. It is out of date so I don't hold too much promise here. But I could see about guest blogging here with my analysis of Alice in Wonderland.
