Okay, so really, here are a few outlets I could get my article to:
(1) BYU Magazine. Why? Because they've done stuff on Sanderson before, and because he teaches here at BYU, and because of that he's really popular here, so people love articles about him and his books.
(2) Leading Edge Magazine. Carly is the one who showed me this one. Once again here at BYU, which is a big plus, and add to that the fact that this magazine focuses mainly on science fiction and fantasy means that my essay fits perfectly within their guidelines. Plus, they're always looking so submissions. Well, hey, I'll have one!
(3) The Official Brandon Sanderson fan base website (17th Shard). This is the website where all the really big geeks like me (well, maybe I'm not that bad), share all things Cosmere and Sanderson related. Image if I came to them with a fully fledged documented article on why Sanderson is so awesome.
(4) Criterion: A Journal of Literary Criticism. Here at BYU (starting to see a theme here?) my article fits within the guidelines these people are looking for. It's got literary stuff, it's got critisism stuff, what's not to love?
(5) An article in The Daily Universe, oh I'm sorry I mean The Universe. It only comes out once a week, but the articles they have in it are sometimes boring. Going to this paper will be a good way to get my article published, and might even help people start thinking that The Universe is a real newspaper again.
(6) Sending Brandon Sanderson himself a copy. Okay, so I've had two chances to talk with him in person and have been too chicken to do so. He's like a celebrity. So I'm not sure if I'll have enough courage to send him a copy of what I wrote...about him, but I think that that's a good way to motivate me to do the best I can with it.
P.S. Check out his new book, picture taken from Facebook.
