Journals Devoted to Food and Literature

I was honestly shocked and excited to find three really cool journals dedicated to food and literature.  I think these publishers will help me push my ideas and continue to move forward with my project.

ScholarsArchive I found this site on the blog “The Real Research of Students Research: Four Outlets”.  I thought it would be interesting to publish to since it is published by the Department of English at BYU.  This journal focuses on literary analysis’ which would be helpful for my topic of food and literature.

Alimentum I found this website by typing in “food literary magazine”.  It is an online journal that only requires 2,000 words, which is probably too short, but I thought it may be interesting to check out since it deals with both food and literature.

Lucky Peach Lucky Peach.  This is a magazine that branches from the creators of McSweeney’s, which is a quarterly.  It is very interesting because it is a magazine that contains art, comics, essays, recipes, etc.  It is focused on food and it is also a quarterly journal.  You can submit your ideas anytime.

Graze Magazine Graze Magazine.  This is the last food related journal that I am exploring for now.  Entries are due by June 20, with a 5,000 word limit.  It seems pretty selective and edgy, but it seems like a perfect magazine to submit my paper.  It has a wide range of genres that it ask for.  They ask for poems, fiction, non-fiction, and “weird surprising[s] that you put together.

National Collegiate Honors Council I typed in google “undergraduate research conferences” and found this website.  They are now accepting paper for their November conference.  I wanted to find a few scholarly sources to publish to and not limit myself to food journals.

Student Pulse Student Pulse. I found this journal through the blog “The Real Research of Students research: Four Outlets”.  I thought that it would be a good place to submit my paper because it is an international publication, and I will be dealing with cultural themes and ideas.  I also thought that their flexibility on length could really help me to write a concise paper that also allows me to explore and write freely on my topic.
